finished! (with the first one anyway)

So here's my cutesy bag. I made it from the book Bend the Rules Sewing by Amy Karol author of the craft blog Angry Chicken. It was a blast. Her projects generally require little fabric, they're quick, and simple, and ubercute. So this is my first project from the book. A simple lined bag with darts on the bottom to make it a little flat. The handle is threaded through casings, enabling the bag to slightly gather when it's held. Pick up the book, seriously. It has something for everyone. Accessories, Home Decor, Baby stuffs. I especially love her philosophy on crafting, which is in a nutshell: Craft because you love to craft and you want something unique. You can buy nearly anything for cheaper than you can make it these days, so crafting to save money is obsolete. I needed to hear that.

Happy Crafting!

I was shocked how easy and fun it was to sew this. Never thought I'd be able to make such cuteness. I love Amy Karol's stuff.

Wish I had more time to sew right now...school and work are killing me. Argh!

oh my gosh! that came out SO cute! i used to really not be into small bags, since i was always toting so much crap around, but since the great simplification of '08 i LOVE small bags!

you are such a great crafter, and i totally agree with the crafting philosophy. you really have to do it because you love it, and it brings you joy.

oh...craft love.

don't forget the craft fair in chicago is coming up. make sure conor has the day off so we can go bumming around. i took the day off! what's the link for that, anyways?

I'm proud of you.

Thanks! It isn't a natural talent, but I'm learning.

I so love that bag. My decision to own a full-size sewing machine has now been reinforced.
