One week and counting!

Today's family outing to the zoo proved a big success. Violet is to an age where she really gets excited about little critters. We brought along a stroller for the first time EVER. Which was a handy rolling cart for jackets and diaper bag. I got my obligatory souvenier magnet. Violet got a tree frog poster. The outing inspired me to start planning some things to do on our Chicago trip that occurs in 7 days. The sheer volume of activites I found made me grimace at our South Carolina options, but I'm very excited. Brookfield Zoo is free to military, and under 2 is free. So there's a pretty cheap outing. The Chicago children's museum is free on the first Monday of the month. We'll be in town on the first Monday of the month. There are a few farms in the Suburbs we might check out, although Aunt Teri has a free ready made farm waiting for us. I'm getting very excited about out trip. Minus the 18 1/2 hours in the car with a 17 month old.

birdy- i can't believe i'm saying it, but all hail the mighty car dvd player.

chiro- well well well. look who makes an appearance between toddler, work, family crisis, and baby sickness. we're waiting for you to join our ranks. then we get to watch soap operas and eat bonbons, right?

skater- violet did REALLY well on a plane when she was still little and nursing. didn't make a peep. NOW she'd be a lunatic.
