assembly line

Conor asks me to make his great aunt's cookie recipe. But he fails to mention she had a family of twelve. I have several pounds of cookie dough in the freezer. I should have known better than to make mormon cookies.

thats what i said when i measured out the 2 cups of shortening. it just sat there in a gelatinous trans-fatty pile. great aunt doris must have been a formidable woman.

That is a LOT of cookies...and a disgustingly huge amount of shortening (but at least it wasn't lard...).

what kind of cookies?

they're kind of a catch all cookie. they have chocolate chips, walnuts, oatmeal and coconut. they're actually quite good. i'm baking some from frozen dough as we speak.

Seriously, I grew up with these cookies around on occasion. Damn good cookies. But I must admit, probably not the best for you.

there's supposed to be a new crisco shortening that is free of those trans fats...hmmm...those cookies sound really good though.

Oh, the everything Mormon cookie...I've made those. The recipe called for an entire f'ing POUND of butter. That's a lot of damn butter.

pants-yep. that's the equivalent amount of shortening. i'd rather use butter.
